Funeral Service- The funeral service at the Watters place on the head of Chestatee in memory of old Mrs. Watters, and which was conducted by the Rev. C.W. Stargel, was long and interesting. Several hundred people were present- many were there from Western North Carolina.


Additional Comments: Mrs. Watters name was Mary "Polly" Watters. She was the wife of John S. Watters. They were the parents of Samuel Waters. Mary and John S. were born in North Carolina. They were listed on the 1867 membership roll at Mt. Airy Baptist church, Union County, Georgia
