State of Georgia- In the name of God Amen- I John J. Stargel- of said state and county being of sound mind and feeble health- and knowing that I must shortly depart life-consider it right and proper my family & myself that I should make some disposition of my property -before a kind Jesus who blessed me- do thankfully make this last will and testament- I desire that my body should be buried in a decent and Christian manner suitable to my condition and circumstances in my life - my I trust shall return to rest with with God who gave it- I desire that all my just debts be paid without delay as I am unwilling that my condition should be delayed in this just night - I desire that my beloved wife- Jane Ann with whom I have lived for thirty eight years take possession of all my property including land, house, household furniture, stock and provisions- for and during her natrual life or womanhood for the benefit of herself and four daughters - namely Nancy Emeline- Sarah Amanda- Nalvina Catherine- Elouisa Rachelle
I derise that if each as all my alone daughters should marry before the death of my wife- that they shall have at their marriage a cow and bed and bed clothes out of my estate - and that all the rest of my estate be equally divided among all my children- this Nov 20th 1874
